Concrete is an artificial stone manufactured by mixing together coarse and fine aggregates, cement, water and often other components such as cement replacement materials, e.g., pulverised fuel ash, and chemical admixtures, e.g., superplasticisers. The grading of an aggregate defines the proportions of particles of different size in the aggregate.
The partial replacement of coarse aggregate in concrete can bed done with alternative materials. A special type of sustainable concrete is called green concrete . Another useful way to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from concrete is to replace aggregates.
On the other hand, using ceramic waste as a partial replacement of coarse aggregate will reduce the volume of solid waste generated from ceramic industry to be disposed as well as the cost of disposal. More so, cost of concrete productionwill be greatly reduced. 2.0 Research Methodologies.
Jan 01, 2016 The feasibility of utilizing E-waste plastic particles as partial replacement of coarse aggregate has been presented. In the present study, compressive strength was investigated for Optimum Cement Content and 10% E-plastic content in mix yielded stability and very good in compressive strength of 53 grade cement. 2016 The Authors.
